SOFTWARE ENGINEER – Q1 2007

services and solutions both in the UK and internationally.

innovative bespoke software and systems solutions, from embedded control
systems to process management and monitoring software, using the latest
technologies.
We operate primarily in the telecommunications sector but also carry out projects
in the media / broadcasting, medical, biochemical, manufacturing and avionics

to medium enterprises.

The Role
Working closely with the senior engineering team you will be responsible for the
development and maintenance of real-time object oriented software components
in client driven projects and as part of LeoTel Software Systems intellectual
property and product development activities. Additionally the successful individual
will have scope to lead and manage projects initially with a small complement of
software engineers
The position will be primarily based at our Stevenage office but may require
occasional visits to client sites (or their customers) for consultancy, integration
and/or system testing assignments.
Requirements
The following are essential requirements for this position:
A strong academic background with a degree in engineering, physics,
computer science or mathematics.
Around five years experience in a commercial software engineering role(s).
Experience of developing real time and/or embedded software using:
C and C++
An Object Oriented Methodology
Are innovative, entrepreneurial, independently minded and demonstrate
initiative.
Enjoy being part of a team in an informal, varied and challenging working

Any of the following would be an advantage:
Experience of developing software using: C#, CORBA, Databases, Java, Perl,
TCP/IP, UML and/or Web Technologies (e.g. APACHE, SOAP, SSL, TOMCAT,
XML).
Experience of developing software for any of the following platforms:
VxWorks, QNX, pSOS, UNIX API (e.g. Solaris, HPUX, *BSD, Linux), and/or
Win32.
Experience of developing software for any of the following microcontrollers /
processors: ARM, ATMEL, PIC, PowerPC, TI, AD, SPARC and/or X86.
